"Staying at the Mahi Mahi suite at Tobago Dreams is sheer luxury. A lovely apt. that is very well appointed comfortable with an amazing kitchen if you wish to cook. The view from the balcony is breathtaking, especially at dusk watching the sunsets,.The pool and beach were just perfect, so perfect that my son and his fiance decided to get married on the beach during our stay there.

The Mahi Mahi agents Helen and Gill were very accomo dating and assisted in making their dream come true. For any one interested in getting married in Tobago, you only need to be on the Island for three days to get a licence to be married.

A marvellous location with excellent resturants within walking distance. Will certainly stay there again "

"From the moment we arrived, I found everything to be far, far better than I expected. Gillian was a wonderful host who went out of her way to make sure my sister and I had a great time, taking us to get groceries as soon as we landed and recommending the great restaurants around the area for meals.

I think a car would be worth it if you want to explore Tobago or take a drive now and then (although Gillian can arrange tours if you desire), but if you're like me, the moment you step into Mahi Mahi, you won't want to leave.

The apartment is so spacious, well-appointed, elegant and cozy that the only time I left it was to eat, or bathe in the pool. I never made it to the beach and I didn't miss it.

My time there was far too short. I can't wait to return to that beautiful balcony, the sea views, the quiet apartment and lovely grounds--and most of all, and my new friend Gillian. I would give it ten stars if I could."

"I stayed here for a weekend to celebrate my birthday and we had a fabulous time. In fact before we left we were trying to decide when we should return.

However, in the interests of being a balanced reviewer I will list the pros and cons of the place.

Pros:

Mahi Mahi is exactly as advertised, what you see on the website is exactly what you get. It's on the beach, the rooms are immaculate, the pool is a little small but because of the way it's designed you don't mind once you're in it. It really is perfection, if you're looking for a quiet relaxing, vacation. The WI-FI was a big bonus for us as well. Everything we used in the kitchen worked so even though we didn't cook it was great to have the option.

Seahorse Inn and Restaurant is literally 2 mins walk from the property, because it was low season they only served dinner, but the food we had was great.

Buccaneers Beach bar was a nice enough spot to have lunch but the menu was rather limited. It's almost opposite Seahorse Inn though so it's a really convenient stop.

Cons: The beds in the second and third bedroom are a little narrow However, the beds were extremely comfortable so it wasn't much of a negative.

We chose Mahi Mahi because we thought we wouldn't need a car due to the proximity to the beach and restaurants, but in truth we probably would have had a better time with one. In general I recommend renting a car in Tobago otherwise your options are really limited. Unless of course you're doing guided tours etc.

There was some bad weather off Trinidad which made the beach rather choppy. Although it was still swimmable, as we aren't strong swimmers we chose to stay in the pool and just walk on the beach occasionally. However I suppose this is a risk if you're travelling in hurricane season, no matter where you stay. And even with the swells the view from the balcony was still amazing.

All in all we had a great time and I'd recommend this place to anyone interested in a nice quiet relaxing vacation, with all the amenities of home. "

"We have stayed in the Mahi Mahi Suite several times over the last 2 years. Overall, our stay has been more than satisfactory. Chris has always been most helpful and readily available to assist us. He is taking good care of the whole compound. Gillian has been our contact point and has always assisted us in a professional and consistent way.

The suite is fully and adequately equipped and the wireless internet connection is reliable.

Upon our arrival we always found the apartment clean and well kept. However, we experienced problems with the AC units and the supply of hot water. The latter was fixed during our last two stays in 2010. The central and biggest AC unit in the living room has never functioned. This obliges us to turn on two units, one in the master bedroom and another one in one of the other two bedrooms more often and longer than otherwise would have been the case.

The overal relationship between quality and price is good. "

"We love Tobago.  We love "Mahi Mahi" and the quiet and privacy & the pool (& the ocean) & Chris & his cats & the hospitality.  We had a wonderful time, met great people & ate some fantastic meals.  We look forward to our next stay with you; our holiday was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much."

"A holiday at Mahi Mahi is heaven.  A warm welcome, great accommodation and someone always willing to assist.  It is quiet, gorgeous, and the people of Tobago are very friendly and helpful.  The pool and very beautiful beach are perfect.  There are usually only a few others on the beach.   The sound of the waves as you sit on the terrace is never to be forgotten."

"Staying at the Mahi Mahi Suite was a true luxury. I am very pleased that I stayed there rather than a resort complex. It felt like you were staying at a "home away from home" rather than a tourist accommodation. That being said, I have never stayed anywhere quite so nice. The bedrooms were comfortable, elegant and met all our needs. It was such a treat to have an en suite bathroom to shower in after a dip in the suite's pool or in the ocean, which was only a hop, skip and a jump away. It was very convenient to have a full size kitchen, with all the amenities, to prepare our own meals when we decided not to dine out. My favorite part of the suite was the balcony overlooking the pool's terrace and beach. Many a times were spent watching sunsets and sunrises, eating meals and sipping drinks on this very balcony. There was so much to see and do within walking distance of the Mahi Mahi suite. Strolling along the beach to speak with locals and watch them fish, visiting the beachside artisans and swimming and snorkeling were daily occurrences. One of the highlights was walking to the Bird Sanctuary about 10 minutes away to watch the feeding sessions and see the diversity of Tobago birds. The Mahi Mahi staff spoiled us with daily housekeeping services, a welcome basket and providing a gateway to tour arrangements. I look forward to staying at the Mahi Mahi suite the next time I visit Tobago."
